Proof positive: How we get the news has changed.

And this doesn't even account for the news spread via sms.. which is how my teen found out around the same time as some of the news reports.

Building your workplace reputation

With tools like LinkedIn, BusinessCard2 and the prevelance of social networking it is easier than ever to get a jump start on your professional reputation. We have begun putting some of those pieces in place already.

This week we will continue to develop our LinkedIn pages, send our first tweets and create a personal business card on BusinessCard2.

We will also research what kinds of behaviors in the workplace and within the social networking sphere are the best approach to increasing our credibility and professionalism, and also which we should avoid. So I will be asking you to create a list of "Do's" and a separate list of "Don'ts", and we will also create yet another Diigo list that will serve as a compilation of resources related to behavior in the workplace, professionalism and how social networking tools fit into this mix. (Note: You are welcome to discuss the positive and the negatives of social networking in regards to reputation.)
